It was 7 years ago since 23 year old Joseph his Father, and older Brother boarded a plane from Haiti and migrated to South Florida leaving his Mother behind. He was 16. Joseph grew up in Pembroke Pines and attended Brian McNichol High School.
In the average Haitian home, after a child graduates from High School, that child is usually promoted to earner and contributor in the household, and as as expected, Joseph who was 19 at the time immediately got a job working at Walmart to support living in a 2 bedroom apartment. His daily routine included walks to the corner store after his night shift, listen to music, cut hair on the side to make some extra cash.
